Elafonisos island

Just the right spot for a superb vacation at the fabulus shores of thsis small island that lies off the south-eastern edge of the Laconian Bay and just 570 meters from the shore of the south-easternmost finger of the Peloponesse , being part of it once.

Ferries make the crossing several times daily and it is also linked with Neapoli, the most southerly port on the Peloponesse, by ferry or tourist boats.

The island has only one village that is functional, modern and busy in summer. 5 km south-east of the village, Simos beach (the double bay Frangos-Sarakiniko) will amaze you.

A 1.5 kilometre long beach stretches below sand dunes and cedar trees. To reach it you should sail round half the island by boat or drive for 15min from Elafonisos residential district.

On the island you will find lots of rooms to rent and local tavernas to serve fresh fish , literally from net to frying pan.
